Under the Presidency of Sybil Smith, the Friends of the Silas Bronson Library, Waterbury,\in the 1990's reached its full potential, 400 members with two book sales offering 20,000-25,000 books at each sale. Book sale earnings eventually reached $35,000 a year, funding 300 children's programs per year, programs never funded by the City. In appearance and manner she was every inch a lady, but at the same time a reliable realistic manager. We extend our deepest sympathy to Sybil's family and friends.
