Death Certificates

Certified Death Certificates may be needed by some institutions. Your Funeral Director will talk to you about how many certified copies may be needed for your specific circumstance. Your Funeral Director is authorized to order certified copies on your behalf for up to 60 days after the passing has occurred. If you find you need more copies after that 60-day time has elapsed, you can do so with the forms available at (this link) Death Certificates (ct.gov) or by contacting the Town Clerk or Vital Statistics department in the town where the passing occurred.
