i worked with your father at Garner. He was a great guy. Loved his children immensly. His wife, the greatest, he said. I loved working with your dad. I was just shocked and soooo saddened to hear of his passing. He was the best. I am so so sorry for your loss. I do know he would never have wanted his family to suffer with the loss i know you are experiencing. God Bless you. I don't know if any one of you will read this but i had to write something just out of respect for your dad.

Hello, Lisa,
I am an old friend and class mate of your sisters, Linda and Barbara, and Jackie Tuman, who notified me of your husband's death. You and your Mom stayed at my former apartment on Diving Street in Stonington after Linda's tragic death. Even though it has been decades since our paths have crossed, I want you to know that my heart goes out to you and your children with this sad loss.

Lisa, Heather and Michael - We are so sad that we could not make the wake tonight to express our sympathy to the three of you in person. Please know that all three of you have been in our thoughts since we heard the news of Rod's passing. We talk often of our Highland Avenue years and one of the best things about those years was having the Joy family as our neighbors. Those are life moments that will always be remembered with love . Rod was such a wonderful friend to us and we will never forget his kindness. We hope and pray that all of the happy times you shared together will help you through the sad days. We are so sorry. All of our love... xoxo

Rod was nothing less than an outstanding man and a great human being. I enjoyed talking with him daily throughout our work day and will miss him.

So sorry to hear of Rod's passing. ALS is a horrible condition. I've also seen its effects on people I've known. I just pray a cure will be found in our lifetime. You and family are in my thoughts and prayers. May your wonderful memories of him carry you through this trying time.

I had the pleasure of working with Rod for years at GCI. He was the nicest guy and always had a warm smile. Everyone loved "Joy" as we called him. I am so sorry that we all lost such a wonderful man, but he will live in our hearts forever. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. He is with all the angels......... Iris
