Dear Lori, Donna and Heidi,,
It is with real sadness that I discovered your mom's death. I will long cherish having known her and the times I spent with your family many, many years ago. She was a truly wonderful woman who taught me much. I often think of her when I am caring for my many animals. She always liked hearing about them. Time is so precious and I am sorry i didn't stay connected.. May she rest well from a life well lived in the service of many. Blessings to each of you and your loved ones.

My deepest condolences to the family. Mrs. Gerl was my 5th grade teacher and although it was many years ago, I remember it like it was yesterday. She had a profound and positive impact on so many lives!

A fitting tribute tonight to your Mom, Lori, Donna, & Heidi. It was truly beautiful to see the bond your folks nurtured between you three, and the obvious depth of love within which each of your children hold memories of your Mom. That is a true legacy.

As a fifth grade teacher "Mrs Gerl" scared the heck out of most her students. But as some of us found out that was her way of teaching and keeping the peace ( something 10 year olds need) A great lady and always had her students foremost in her heart. You will be missed I think of you still today when at meeting and folk are loud and waiting to start>>"We need her to shut off the light and "settle down" the room . Thank you to her family for sharing her with all of us .
