Dear Stephen,
I spoke to your dad not long after Claire passed. I'm so sorry you have this terrible loss - and that she had struggles so young. I wanted to send my thoughts and prayers your way. I certainly know a bit about the struggle, as we lost my brother John when he was 47. Never easy, and may blessings of beautiful memories help you.

Claire was warm, kind person. We first met Claire when she and Steve were in their apartment in Waterbury. A big fan of cats, she recommended that we get one (or two) to complete our household. We watched her as she raised her children, one born a few months before our youngest son, and how proud she was of them. We can't attend the memorial service but our thoughts are with the family.

My sister Claire was a kind and gentle person always thinking of her family before herself. I will be forever thankful to have spent the time that I had with her and the fond memories that I will cherish when reminiscing about her.
My heart goes out to her family and especially her children having lost such a wonderful mother.
