William SanFanAndre Obituary

William Patrick SanFanAndre of Southbury, 66, died peacefully on May 3, 2021, with his wife of almost 20 years, Rachel, by his side.

Bill was born on March 29, 1955 at Mercy Hospital in Rockville Centre, NY to the late William and Marguerite Box SanFanAndre. Raised in Darien, CT, he graduated from Darien High School and attended University of Tampa in Florida. He spent his work life starting with his father’s company, Anco Packaging and then having his own family business Ansel Label and Packaging in Trumbull, CT.

Besides, Rachel, he is survived by his four children: Austin SanFanAndre of Washington, CT, Remi SanFanAndre of Naugatuck and Ashleigh and Lauren SanFanAndre of Southbury. His siblings, Katherine Keating of Woodbury, Judith Larocque of Summerville, SC, Jeffrey SanFanAndre of Bluffton, South Carolina, Marguerite McKenna of Winter Springs, FL and Laura Papst of Norwalk.  He had many nieces and nephews.  William was predeceased by his first wife, Francoise Shay SanFanAndre.

Bill loved the Yankees, his gardening and playing golf.  His favorite trip, not with his family mind you, but to Pebble Beach with his brother and buddies.  Bill was Captain of his high school golf team, and had a very low handicap though out his years. He was the guy you wanted in your foursome!  He won too many tournaments to mention.  He loved going to the beach with his family for vacation and swimming in the salt water.  The bigger the waves the better! He spent, in his wife’s opinion, too much time tending to his property, but his effects always paid off with beautiful “mini” gardens throughout. Bill hated winters, so one of the happiest day of year for him would be “pitchers and catchers days”, the start of another baseball season! He will be missed terribly by all that had known him.  He was an unselfish man and one of the nicest people you would ever meet.  He lit up a room with his optimistic smile and unpretentious demeanor.  He was that guy who was approachable, helpful and calming.  He would give you his last dime, if needed.  Bye, Billy Boy...

Service will be Friday, May 7 at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, 235 Main St. N. Southbury, CT, from 4 pm until 7 pm. Burial will be private in New Canaan where he will be laid to rest with his parents, whom he is peacefully with now.
