William F Ball Jr. (Bucky), age 71, of Washington Depot, CT passed away Friday June 11th, 2021 at Waterbury Hospital.  Bucky was born in West Stewartstown, NH and grew up in North Stratford, NH.  At age 17, Bucky enlisted in the United States Marine Corps as an infantry mortarman and served a combat tour in Vietnam.  Bucky was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps and relocated to Connecticut beginning his more than 50 year carpentry career eventually starting his own business, Ball Construction, Ltd. Bucky was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved his country and what it stands for.  Most of all Bucky is remembered for always helping others and expecting nothing in return.

Bucky is preceded in death by his father and mother, William F Ball Sr and Julia J Ball, and his sisters Crystal Ball and Vicky Brady.  He is survived by his children, William Ball III and daughter-in-law Erica of Milwaukee WI, Robert Ball and daughter-in-law Shannon of Birmingham AL, Nicholas Ball and daughter-in-law Erin of Park City UT, and Samantha Padilla of Washington Depot CT; his sister Bonnie; his nieces Kathleen, Tori, Bo, Caryne, Jeni, and Kyle; his nephew Charles; and his grandchildren Cooper, Dylan, William IV, and Hailey.

A Celebration of Bucky’s life will be held at the American Legion in Washington Depot, Saturday, June 19th, 2021 at 1pm with military honors presented at 2pm.
