Vichitdara Saczawa, 43, of Oxford, CT lost her battle with breast cancer. Passing away, peacefully, on February 20, 2020 at Yale New Haven hospital Smilow Cancer Center.
Dara was a kind soul who always put others before herself. She has several good friends from childhood to college and into adulthood. Everyone who knew her will remember her infectious laugh and great sense of humor.
Her hands were always creating something beautiful. She mastered many different arts and crafts skills, but jewelry making and knitting were her two favorite hobbies.
Vichitdara was born in Vientiane, Laos on July 25, 1976 to Phaythoun and Bouabane Vongsouvanh. She was their second child to her brother Bouaphachit Andy Vongsouvanh. The family traveled to America ultimately calling Danbury home for the vast majority of time. Dara attended Danbury High School and graduated class of 94. She was educated at Western Connecticut State University and received a Bachelor of Arts in biology.
Dara began a career in the pharmaceutical field as a pharmacist assistant and with her strong work ethic, she furthered her career all the way to managing clinical trials at Boehringer and Ingelheim in Danbury. Dara retired, reluctantly, in August 2018 due to the effects of her disease.
Dara is survived by her loving husband, Michael Saczawa. Each of her parents, Phaythoun and Bouabane. Her brother Andy, his wife, Marie and their children Andrew and Katherine. And the light of her life, her son Dylan Roth.
