Steven J. Grudzien, born December 13, 1949, of Woodbury, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2020, after a long battle with cancer, having previously kicked cancer in the pants twice.
Steve was a plumber and steam fitter for 50 years, and also served as an EMT for 23 years with both the Woodbury Ambulance Association and Campion Ambulance. While his EMT career was marked with several highlights, his favorite was an emergency delivery of a healthy baby.
Steve loved the ocean, cruisin’, his children, EMS, and more recently, he fell in love with tattoos. While often called “Grumpy”, Steve would help anyone, having touched so many lives as an EMT throughout his life.
Steve leaves behind his partner, Denyse Kehoe McAdams of Carmel, New York; his son, Steven Grudzien Jr and wife, Katherine of Naugatuck; his daughter, Krista Lee (Grudzien) Bargholz and husband, Robert of Florida; his son, Greg Grudzien and wife, Jessica of Oxford, his son, Brian Grudzien and wife, Elizabeth of Naugatuck, several nieces and nephews, 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, his brother, Edward Grudzien and wife Susan, and sister, Laurie Paparazzo and husband, Glenn.
