Russell P. Springer

On March 18, 2024, Russell Peter Springer, 82, passed away peacefully. Russ was born September 20th, 1941, in Waterbury, CT. In his youth he attended Leavenworth High School and spent his summers working on the family farm in Woodbury, CT and tinkering with cars.

Later in life, he worked as a well-respected supervisor for Platt Brothers Zinc Products in Waterbury, CT until retirement. He then spent his time with occasional travel and relaxing at home with his wife Ruth and their cats.

Russ was an avid racing fan and enjoyed building, collecting, and flying model airplanes. Devoted and much-loved, he embraced his family and thoroughly enjoyed gatherings for all occasions, large and small, throughout the years.

Russ is survived by his son David and daughter-in-law Laura Springer, stepdaughter Susan and son-in-law Todd Gniadek and stepson David Lawton. Grandchildren: Jenn, Morgan, Thomas, Ian, Kaira, Jacob, Kailyn, and Rebekkah.

He was predeceased by his wife Ruth Springer, first wife Kathryn Springer, parents, Jessee and Anne Uranus Springer, and brother James Springer.
