Obituary

Prospect- Ronald C. Parker, 80, passed away on August 2, 2023 at Hamden Rehabilitation and Health Care after a long illness. Ronald was the beloved husband to Patricia (Daury) for 53 years.

Ronald was born on January 3, 1943 in Winchester, Massachusetts, to the late Donald C. and Mildred (Johnson) Parker.  He attended Lyman Hall High School in Wallingford, CT, and went on to further his education at Ratcliffe Hicks School of Agriculture at UConn, Storrs.  Ronald enlisted in the Navy in 1963 and proudly served his country. His last duty assignment was aboard the USS Threadfin (USS 410), stationed in Key West, FL.

Ron had many passions and was accomplished in stained glass, metal detecting and was known as an avid motorcyclist. Ron also served his community by becoming a (former) member of the Prospect Jaycees and Prospect Conservation Commission.

Ronald was a hardworking maintenance supervisor with a vast set of employment skills for several companies including the original Sheraton Hotel in Waterbury and the Courtyard Marriott.

Ronald leaves behind his devoted wife Pat, three children, Darryl (Caroline), Karen (Richard) and Kenneth (Amanda), three grandchildren Colby, Michael and Ruby; all of whom were the light of his life. He also leaves his sister, Dawn, a brother in law, James Daury, sisters in law, Judith DeCarlo and Elizabeth Computzzi, and several nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, Ronald was predeceased by his identical twin brother, Richard.

Calling hours will be held at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, 2 School St. Woodbury, on Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. A service will be held at 1:00 pm, followed by burial at South Cemetery with full military honors.
