Roberta Lipperman

Updated Service information:  A Celebration of Life for Roberta will take place at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home , 235 Main St. N. Southbury, CT 06488, on July 24, 2021 from 3:00 pm until 4:30 pm. A Zoom invitation will be found below the obituary for those who can not attend physically. 

Roberta Lipperman, 85, passed away on Monday, June 21, 2021 at River Glen Nursing Home in Southbury, CT.

 She was born in Brooklyn on March 5, 1936 to Charles and Sarah Rumsky. She graduated from Brooklyn College in 1956. Upon her marriage in 1957, she moved to Flushing, NY and began work at IBM in NYC. She later moved to Fresh Meadow, NY where she was active in the League of Women Voters as Voter Service Chairman, Newsletter Editor, and President of her chapter. In 1977, she returned to work at IBM and was relocated to Southbury in 1988 and retired in 1993 as a programmer/analyst. In Heritage Village, she was a member of her condo board, chairman of two re-assessment committees and had been a long time member of Southbury Book Club. She enjoyed playing duplicate bridge and directed a game at the Senior Center and Federation. She also taught bridge in Southbury and Oxford.

She is survived by her sons, Michael David (Floris) of North Carolina and Peter John (Elysa) of West Hartford, CT, and her daughter, Judith Ann of MA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Amelia, Jacob, and Nathan Graber-Lipperman of West Hartford, CT. There will be a Celebration of Life for Roberta at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, 235 Main St. N. Southbury, CT 06488, on Saturday, July 24, 2021 from 3:00 pm until 4:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution to the Disabled American Veterans or the Heritage Village Library.
