Southbury- Robert Alan Weil – devoted husband and father – passed away at home on November 16, 2022.
Bob was born on August 4, 1933, to the late Abraham and Rose Weil in the Bronx, New York. He graduated from Forest Hills High School. He attended The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania, graduating in 1955. There, he joined Pi Lambda Phi fraternity. His brothers became friends for life. After graduation, Bob served in the US Army.
In 1955, he married Carol L. Silverman. They shared their lives and love for more than 67 years. He was the loving father of Susan Cordner (Rick), David Weil (Mary Cahalane), and Jane Weil Emmer (Stuart Tygert). He was adored by his grandchildren: Mikaela and Jackie, Andrew and Sydney, Kate and Evan, Matthew, Scott and Molly, Miranda and Lee, and Jamie. But Bob's biggest smiles came when seeing his great-grandson Liam.
Bob was a much-loved brother, uncle, friend, and poker buddy. He loved practical jokes and may have invented the Dad joke. He was active in his community and a lifelong learner. Bob was also an avid and loyal sports fan, always cheering for the NY Giants and Mets. He was a principal in Weil and Company and later a successful commercial real estate broker. Bob committed fully to anything he took on. But at the end of the day, he was most loving and loyal to his family.
Bob was predeceased by his brother Edward and sister Lee and his son-in-law David Emmer. He leaves behind his sister Ruth.
