Robert Stockwell Sr. Obituary

Robert Henry Stockwell, Sr., 71, of Peter Road passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Waterbury Hospital with his children by his side. Bob departed this life two weeks after his beloved wife and life partner of over 30 years Jean O’Grady Stockwell. Bob was born in Waterbury on November 20, 1948, son of the late Charles F. and Clare R. (Tuttle) Stockwell, Jr. A lifelong resident of Woodbury, Bob and his friend and business partner Peter Carroll own Rocky Ridge Services for the past 28 years.

He is survived by his beloved children Lori Stockwell-Dingwell, husband Tim, grandchildren Timothy and Heather of Waterbury, Linda Stockwell- Caouette of Thomaston, Robert Stockwell, Jr. and his wife Michele and granddaughter, Samantha of Hartsdale, NY, his step children Anthony Calabrese of Trumbull and Joseph Calabrese of Norwalk. He also leaves behind his brothers and sisters: Donna Lindberg of Woodbury and her partner Ray Ouelette, Charles F. He was predeceased by a brother Gary Stockwell.

Dad was special to those who knew him. First and foremost, he was generous with his time, property and money. He spent a lot of his free time hanging out at his barn where his family and friends would often stop by to either seek his advise or just be around him to feel better about their day.You could never expect to have a private audience as there were always multiple people visiting at a time. Everyone received his love and support especially in their time of need. Dad was nicknamed by some of his closest friends as Ralph, Burt or Crazy Bob. He also loved to give nicknames to his friends and family. Dad loved hunting and fishing and sharing that love with others. Dad started out with little but achieved so much in his life and had more admiration than most. He lived his life being true to himself, being generous in all ways, and having a profound love for life. A true testament to his life is that he will be missed by a wider circle of family and friends than most. Dad also loved his dogs, he leaves behind Poppy, Milo and Jax who now have a home with family.

Dad, thank you for your love and support. We love you Dad. Bobby, Linda and Lori.

P.S. If Dad gave you a nickname, please share it when we meet and write it in the signing book next to your name.
