Robert Ernest Fiala passed away Monday March 11, 2019 at Newington Rapid Recover Rehab Center from cardiac arrest after a year-long battle with sepsis and other complications.
Robert was born May 19, 1956 in Stamford, Connecticut. He graduated from Greenwich High School in 1974 and then went on to New England College where he received a Bachelor of Arts. He then decided to return to college at the University of Connecticut to pursue a Masters Degree in Chemistry. Upon graduation he worked for American Cyanamid in Stamford for a short while where he patented an automobile paint. He then decided not to continue with a career in Chemistry, but rather to return to school to change direction and pursue a Masters Degree in in Business Administration. Upon graduation he followed the direction of banking, which led to a 30 year long career as a Mortgage Broker. This was his passion as he was voted in Connecticut Magazine for three years in a row (2011, 2012 & 2013) as highest, exceptional and outstanding in Overall Customer Satisfaction.
Always searching for that unusual, undiscovered cottage industry, his hobbies included bee keeping, hunting, fishing, maple syrup and gardening organic foods.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Elaine, daughter Olga, parents Ernest and Margaret and sister Susan.
