Robert Francis Clifford, 76, passed away peacefully at the Shady Knoll Health Center, Seymour CT May 11. Bob was born in Waterbury, Ct July 7, 1944 son of William J Clifford and Catherine (Norris) Clifford. In 1949 the family moved to Bethlehem, Ct where he spent his formative years. In 1961 Bob enlisted in the Navy and served aboard the USS Enterprise during the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962. Prior to his retirement, Bob was an auto parts salesman for 45 plus years and was known fondly as “Napa Bob” or “Cliffy”.
Bob loved the outdoors. He enjoyed spending over 25 years with his many friends hunting and fishing in New Hampshire. He was also an avid gardener and loved to share his vegetables with friends and family. Bob will be remembered for his sense of humor, his big hugs, unending kindness, and his love of family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Besides his wife Julie Baysinger Clifford, Bob is survived by his 2 sons Robert and his wife Jackie, Lee and his wife Stefanie, 5 grandchildren: Cassandra, Tyler, Bryon, Connor, Molly and 3 great grandchildren, He is also survived by his sister Renee Clifford, many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends. His 2 brothers William and Charles predeceased him.
Friends may gather at the Woodbury funeral Home of Munson Lovetere Funeral Home, 2 School St., on Sunday May 16, from 2 to 4 pm. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
