Pamela Mary Owens (Dalton), 71, of Southbury passed away on January 11th 2021. She was born on June 13th 1949, the daughter of the late Rodney Dalton and Josephine Dalton. Pam was given less than a 10% chance of surviving when she was born prematurely weighing 1 pound, 14 ounces. She stayed in an incubator for 77 days and was fed with an eye dropper. Three months later, weighing 5 ½ pounds, she was miraculously discharged from the hospital as a healthy baby.
She leaves her daughter, Kim Owens, and granddaughter, Brooke Staffieri, as well as her beloved community at River Glen Health Care Center in Southbury, CT.
Pam was an avid and talented ballerina throughout her early years as a child and teenager in New York City. She then went on to work in the accounting department of Pan American Airlines and enjoyed the accompanying benefit of being able to travel the world. Pam resided in Southbury for the past nearly forty years and enjoyed singing in the choirs and as a cantor in various local churches. She treasured her friends and thoroughly enjoyed her lunches and special outings with them. During her time at River Glen, it was rare for her to miss a bingo game or social event. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the recreation department at River Glen Health Care Center so that current and future residents may experience even more moments of the joy, connection, and love that this department is so devoted to providing.
