Oskar Gustav Lange, 86, of Naugatuck, Connecticut, beloved husband of Hildegard (Sedelies) Lange, passed peacefully on Tuesday July 21, 2020 with his family by his side. Oskar was born on October 6, 1933 in Naujininken, Lithuania and was a son of the late Gustav Lange and Augusta (Kropstadt) Lange.
After coming to the United States, Oskar and his wife settled in Naugatuck, Connecticut, where they raised their family and where Oskar came to work at the Naugatuck Glass Company; from which he retired after a long career. He very much enjoyed spending time with friends and family, reminiscing about his heritage and doing projects at home or at the farm he loved in New Jersey. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Naugatuck.
In addition to his loving wife of 59 years, Oskar is survived by two sisters, Alma Schugschdinis and Lydia Gruenwald of Huttenfeld, Germany; four sons and daughters-in-law, Richard (Rick) and Rhoda Lange of Bristol, CT, Victor and Sherrie Lange of Naugatuck, Alfred and Kristen Lange of Pinellas Park, FL, Ronald and Tina Lange of Torrington, CT; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa Lange Dibner and Tim Roche of Southbury, CT, Lori Lange Elsen and Tim Elsen of Las Vegas, NV; seven grandchildren, Kevin Lange, Adam Behuniak, Nicole Lange, Veronica Lange, Amber Dibner, Tyler Fraser, Connor Kangas; and many extended family and friends here in the United States, Germany and Lithuania. He was predeceased by his brothers, Albin Lange, Waldemar Lange and Richard Lange.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday July 25, 2020 at 10 AM at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, 2 School Street, Woodbury, CT 06798. Burial will follow in Carmel Hill Cemetery, Bethlehem, CT. Relatives and friends may call at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home on Friday between 5-7 PM.
