Naomi Emmons Obituary

Southbury-

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Naomi Hogg Emmons, a beloved resident of Southbury, CT. Naomi peacefully departed from this world on Wednesday, April 3, at her home at The Watermark in Southbury at the age of 90. She was born on November 17, 1933, in Slippery Rock, PA, to the late Calvin and Dorothy Hogg.

Naomi was the cherished wife of the late Richard (Dick) Emmons, whom she married in 1959. They met on a blind date in Binghamton, NY, where they soon began their family. They were married for 38 years until Dick passed in 1997. She is survived by her loving children Judy Gill and husband Tim, of Easton, PA; Jeff Emmons of Evergreen, CO; Jane MacLaren and husband Gil of Lakeville, CT; and Jill DeLouis and husband Peter, of Torrington, CT. Naomi was also a devoted grandmother to eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Naomi will also be dearly missed by her surviving twin sister, Lois Monroe, and brother-in-law Lauren Monroe of Bovina Center, NY, sister-in-law Christine Hogg of Slippery Rock, PA, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as her devoted caregiver, Dawn Fairclough.  She was predeceased by her siblings, Ted Hogg and Robert Hogg of Slippery Rock, PA, Esther Hogg Burtner of Butler, PA, and Louise Hogg Gindler of Union City, CA.

Naomi was born and raised in Slippery Rock, PA and attended Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA, where she studied business.

Naomi resided in Ridgefield, CT, for over 4 decades (1970-2012) before moving to Southbury and dedicated many years as an executive secretary in the clinical research department at Boehringer Ingelheim in Ridgefield, CT until her retirement in 1994. Naomi was a long-time member of The Ridgebury Congregational Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She pursued her hobbies of playing the piano and violin, engaging in trivia, putting on the green, reading, gardening, and most importantly, spending quality time with her family, who lovingly called her Nomie.
