Maryann Kelley, 81, of Woodbury, CT, formerly of Shelton, passed away peacefully at home Monday, May 15, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, James Patrick Kelley.
Maryann was born on August 29, 1941 in Derby, CT. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Philomena Shpak and sister to the late Michael Shpak Jr. (Butchie). She was a housewife and worked many years at Chemical Color Plate in Bridgeport, where she helped provide color to the comic books Prince Valiant and many others. Her love for art spilled into her everyday life. She would often be seen drawing or painting at home. She was known to hand-paint cards for family and friends’ birthdays, graduations, or Christmas. Maryann was a life long devout Catholic, and a member of Prince of Peace Parish. She greatly enjoyed watching Hallmark, Lifetime, and old western films. She loved listening to country, 50’s music, Elvis, and opera music. She was an avid sports fan, rooting for her New York Yankees, New York Giants, and Notre Dame Football. However, what she loved most was spending time with her family. She will always be remembered for her kindness, sense of humor, love of life, warm smile, loving heart and especially her cooking and entertaining.
Maryann is survived by her daughters Kim DiTerlizzi and her husband Frank, Terry Campo and her husband Arnold; and her sons James Kelley and his wife Irene, and Patrick Kelley and his wife Shannon. She will be greatly missed by her 10 loving grandchildren Tommy, Nikki, Samm, Kasey, Kylie, Zac, Gabe, Jake, Shannon, and Meagan; as well as her 15 great-grandchildren Alyssa, Thomas (Bubba), Scarlett, Kenna, Maisie, Maddison, Taylor, Alyson, Riley, Haley, Addaley, Easton, John, Aaron, and Jaxon.
