Linda J. Bignelli

Linda Johnson Bignelli, born December 13, 1944 in East Lyme, Connecticut, wife of Stephen Bignelli and daughter of the late Paul and Lillian Johnson of Naugatuck, Connecticut, died on April 8, 2021 after a protracted battle with cancer.

She received a BA from North Park College in Chicago, Illinois and an MS in Education from Western Connecticut State College. She taught in Region #14 middle school for 37 years. Linda was Department Chairperson and Team Leader for many years and taught French, English and Reading. After her retirement she continued to substitute, mostly in the middle school for 10 more years. Along with her husband she led 9 trips to France with Region #14 high school students where, with groups as large as 52, they spend time in Paris, the chateau country, Mont St. Michel, and Chartres. Linda loved teaching young people.

Linda is survived by her husband of 52 years and their son, Jonathan, a chef, and daughter-in-law Allison.

There will be no service at this time. The family may hold a memorial service later in the summer or early fall.
