Kurt Marut, 31, of Redding, passed away October 26, 2023. He was born June 26, 1992 in Stoneham, MA to Andy Marut and Beth Marut.
Kurt graduated from Wilton High School and UCONN with a degree in Economics. He was an outstanding athlete, playing baseball and pitching in both High School and for UCONN. Kurt had a great interest in learning and was curious, not only in growing his career but also in important moments in history and current events. He was currently pursuing a career in the financial services industry.
Kurt loved the outdoors, fishing, skiing, playing softball with the Golden Oldies, the beach, movies, animals, cooking, and spending time with his many friends. Summer vacations at "Camp Marut" were some of his fondest memories.
More than anything else, Kurt loved his family. He found the greatest joy when surrounded by family. Holidays with his cousins were filled with laughter and friendly competition. Kurt was extremely close with his brothers, Matt, and Ryan. They had a bond that went more than skin deep, and they will forever miss Kurts presence. He was loyal and selfless in his dedication to friends and family.
Kurt is survived by mother Beth Marut of Redding, CT.; father Andy Marut and his wife Jennifer of Westlake Village, CA.; brother Matt Marut and his wife Katelyn of Norwalk, CT.; brother Ryan Marut and Dani of Newtown, CT.; a niece, two nephews, his Uncle Mark Marut and his wife Cindy of Farmington, CT.; Aunts Cathy Giulietti and her husband John of New Britain, CT.; Charlene Rogers and Sharon O'Donnell and her husband Leo of Parrish, FL. He also leaves many cousins, extended family, good friends, and acquaintances.
A Funeral Mass will take place Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Fatima Parish located 229 Danbury Road Wilton, CT 06897. The burial will be private and at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider a donation to Shatterproof a national nonprofit organization dedicated to reversing the addiction crisis in the U.S., or D.A.R.E., dedicated to teaching students’ good decision-making skills to help them lead safe and healthy lives.
