Kathleen Anne Gemeinhardt –McDonald 56, of Woodbury died January 16, 2020 from a long term illness. She was born on February 7, 1963 in Patterson, NJ, the only daughter of Paul and Kathleen Gemeinhardt. She lived in west Milford, NJ and attended West Milford High School before moving to Woodbury Connecticut in 1982. She received her BS in Business from Sacred Heart University
On September, 5, 1992 she was married to Lawrence McDonald at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church in Woodbury CT and moved to New Milford CT. In 2000 they moved back to Woodbury, CT
Kathy was employed at GE Capital and Pepperidge Farms legal/contracts departments. However, it was not until 2006, when she discovered her true life passion as a self-employed and celebrated artisan. She had a true gift and love for her creations of chalkware figurines. In 2012, Kathy was recognized as one of the top 200 Holiday Craft artisans in the country.
Besides her love of crafts, Kathy was an avid flute player, antique hunter, doll maker and a lover of nature. Kathy was a communicant of St Teresa’s Church in Woodbury. Kathy was also an active member of the Jr. Women’s Club for many years.
She leaves her beloved husband Larry, Her mother Kathleen Bliven-Gemeinhardt and step mom Jan Hovey-Gemeinhardt, her sisters, Kim Bringhurst and Lisa Pease; Her brother, Paul A. Gemeinhardt. Kathy also leaves many loving nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will take place Tuesday January 21, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home located 2 School Street Woodbury. A funeral service will take place Wednesday January 22, 2020 at 10 A.M. at St.Teresa of Avila Church located 146 Main Street South Woodbury.
