Julia (Polis) Cook, 84, of Redding, CT passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on April 7 at the Danbury Hospital Regional Hospice Care Unit.
Julia, who went by Jewel, was the daughter of the late Marie and Leonard Polis. Jewel and her husband William (Bill) were married on December 18th, 1954 in Flushing, New York and celebrated 66 years together.
Jewel is survived by her husband Bill, daughter Linda, sons Tommy (wife Penny) and Patrick, and she is predeceased by her son Billy. Jewel also treasured her grandchildren: David, Julie, Billy, Tommy, Jessica, Christian, Megan, Terry, Kenny, Lenny, Theresa, and Sam. She also leaves behind 19 beloved Great Grandchildren.
Jewel was a dedicated care-giver, and was a long-standing, faithful member of St. Patrick’s Church. Above all else, Jewel cherished time with her family.
Calling hours are 2-4PM at the Munson Lovetere Funeral Home 235 Main St. N. Southbury, CT. A liturgy of Christian Burial will take place Monday April 12th at 10am at St. Patrick’s Church in Redding, CT. Burial will follow church services at St. John’s cemetery in West Norwalk, CT.
