Southbury- Judy Ann (Syombathy) Houle, 84, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 30th surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife to the late Arthur Houle.
Judy was born on June 2, 1939 in Waterbury, Connecticut to the late Joseph and Stephie (Howanec) Syombathy. Judy was educated in local schools and attended Secretarial school. When she entered the workforce she was an executive secretary at Old Hundred for several years before becoming the owner of several well-known businesses such as the 3 Gables Restaurant and Casper’s Package Store. Judy was also a member of the Southbury Knights of Columbiettes.
Judy is survived by her sister, Gail Syombathy- Mikolsky (Bill), son Jim Houle and wife Dawn, daughter Doreen DePaiva (Pedro), her grandchildren, Matthew (Hannah) Houle, Nicole Houle, Michael Houle, Maria Salgado, Pauline Taylor, Pedro DePaiva, her nieces, Schuyler (Dan) Cristoforo, Whitney (Adam) Rinaldi, Emma Cristoforo, Elizabeth Cristoforo, Evelyn Cristoforo, Daniel, Cristoforo, and Samantha Rinaldi, 6 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
Family and friends may gather on Friday, October 6, 2023 from 6-8pm at the Southbury location of Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, 235 Main St. N. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 7th at Munson-Lovetere at 10am followed immediately by burial in Pine Hill Cemetery in Southbury.
