Joseph F Jameson, age 91 passed away peacefully at Danbury Hospital (CT) on Thursday, October 1, 2020 with family present. He was the husband of Carole (Keating) Jameson for 65 years.
Joe was born in New Rochelle, NY in 1929. The son of the late Freida (Baker) Jameson and Joseph A Jameson. Joe was a tool and die maker at Dual-Lite for many years and eventually he worked closer to home at Southbury Training School power plant from which he retired. He enjoyed tinkering and could repair most anything. He and Carole enjoyed many water sports, however, steam boating was probably their favorite. Joe designed and built a steam boat, “The Housatonic Queen” and together they enjoyed many trips, up and down Lake Zoar for years. Joe also served proudly in the US Air Force. He was involved in the local Southbury VFW Post 1607/American Legion Post 147 for decades and loved his fellow veteran friends. Joe also served on the Southbury Board of Selectman in the late 70’s for four years.
Joe is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Carole (Keating) Jameson; son, Todd P Jameson and two grandsons, Devon and Glenn; and family friend, Betsy (Powell) Cruice. He is preceded in death by his son, Glenn; six siblings Josephine Nussbaum, James Jameson, Frances Molloy, Bette Hatstat, Gloria Lauterbach and Jane Censullo.
