John G. Mirabito passed peacefully in his home in Thomaston, CT on July 10th, 2021. He was born on November 6th, 1964 in Teaneck, New Jersey, to the late Bart and Annette Mirabito. Throughout his childhood, John had lived in Tappan, New York, Madrid, Spain, and Newtown, Connecticut where he graduated from Newtown High School. He attended Fairfield University to pursue his passion in Finance, and received a Master’s degree from Sacred Heart University in Education. John was both a financial expert and educator throughout his life. Most notably, he worked at Peck Place School in Orange, CT as a sixth grade math and science teacher, which he enjoyed tremendously.
John raised his family in Southbury, CT. He enjoyed coaching his two children in soccer, and playing lead-guitar in his local band. He also enjoyed listening and singing to music, his favorite band being The Beatles. John was a trivial mastermind, and was practicing to go on Jeopardy. He was also a super fan of the New York Giants. John’s favorite place to be was in Cape Cod with his family.
John is predeceased by his parents, and his beloved sister, Anne Mirabito Delaney. John is survived by his children Mark and Jessica Mirabito, daughter-in-law Megan Mirabito, and granddaughter, Averie. He also leaves behind his significant other, Laura Roy, and ex-wife, Kimberly. He leaves behind his brothers Peter and wife Carol, Tom and wife Lois, and Paul and wife April. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home at 235 Main St North in Southbury, CT on Saturday, July 17th from 1-3 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the CT Humane Society.
