John C. Hotchkiss

John Caddell (“Jack”) Hotchkiss, formerly a longtime resident of Watertown, passed away on July 2, 2021, at the age of 96. Born on October 4, 1924 in Waterbury, he was the son of Roland S. and Lillian C. Hotchkiss. Jack attended McTernan School, Taft School and graduated from Phillips Andover Academy. He served in the Army Air Corps in WW2 in the Asiatic Pacific Theater, where he was an Aerial Gunnery Instructor for B17 crews. Following the war, he graduated from Brown University with a degree in Economics.
Jack was employed as Product Manager for Hudson Wire Co, Ossining , NY for over 35 years. He also served as a member of New England Wire & Cable Co, the Litchfield County University Club and the Watertown Foundation.
Jack’s interests included fishing, woodworking and photography.
He is predeceased by his wife of 70 years, Nancy M. Hotchkiss and his sister, Nancy Marshall of W. Hartford. He is survived by sons John Jr. (Patricia) and William (Alan Yates); daughter Janet Segal (Howard); grandchildren Sarah Chilcott (Jason), Meghan Hotchkiss, Erin Vickory and Jennifer Stevenson (Alan) and three great-grandchildren.
