Jean O'Grady-Stockwell Obituary

Jean O’Grady-Stockwell, age 64, of Peter Road and formerly of Norwalk, died on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Waterbury Hospital, with her family at her side, including her cherished life partner of over 30 years, Robert H. Stockwell, Sr.  Born in Norwalk, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Marjorie O’Grady.  She grew up in Norwalk and graduated from Norwalk High School.  She went on to graduate from dog grooming School.  During her 40+ year career she was a successful and popular dog groomer throughout Litchfield and Fairfield Counties.  Outside of work, Jean loved spending time with her family, including her husband Bob and their multiple dogs. 

Jean is survived by her beloved children Anthony Calabrese of Trumbull and Joseph Calabrese of Naugatuck.  She is also survived by her three stepchildren Robert Stockwell Jr and wife Michelle of Hartsdale, NY, Linda Stockwell-Caouette of Thomaston, and Lori Stockwell-Dingwell and husband Tim of Waterbury.  She also leaves behind her brothers Christopher O’Grady and wife Lisa of Mystic, Daniel O’Grady and Elise of Bethel, and Richard O’Grady and wife Brenda of New Milford.  In addition, many cherished nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Friends may call to the Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere on Friday, September 25 from 3-7 P.M. located at 2 School Street. A graveside service will be private at the convenience of the family.
