Jean Eschmann Obituary

Jean Virginia Eschmann, 89, of Middlebury, died December 23, 2021 at Regional Hospice in Danbury CT. She was the beloved wife of late Edward William Eschmann.

Jean was born on February 6, 1932 in Harlem, New York the daughter of the late Jane (Dyer) Brown and the late James Brown. She was a graduate of Newtown High School in New York and worked as a secretary for IBM before retiring in 1999 to care for her grandchildren.

Her hobbies included reading, baking, and knitting. She was well known for her chocolate chip cookies, her sharp wit, and her love of crime shows and novels. She leaves behind her five children, Edward Eschmann and his wife Amy of North Port, New York, Diane Ainson and her husband Geoff of Branford, Deborah Grabher and her husband Stephen of Glen Head, New York, Linda Orsini and her husband Christopher of Middlebury, and Stephen Eschmann and his wife Deborah of Woodbury. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday January 8, 2022, at St. Teresa of Avila Church, Prince of Peace Parish, 146 Main Street South (Route 6) Woodbury, CT 06798. Masks are required.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
