Janet D. (Jacobs) Meyer

Southbury- Janet D. Meyer passed away on Sunday evening July 14, 2019 after her short battle with cancer.

Janet was born to John and Dagmar Jacobs on August 4, 1937 in Buffalo New York. In 1968 Janet married Kenneth J. Meyer at All Saints Church in Harrison New York.

She earned a BA in Home Economics from Russell Sage College and a MA from the University of Bridgeport in Guidance.

Janet was a teacher in Westchester County New York for over 30 years, as well as a year in Japan. She grew up in Croton New York and Sydney Australia.

Janet was an avid golfer here in Southbury. She enjoyed music, needle work and travel.

Janet is survived by her husband Kenneth J. Meyer of 51 years, her sister Lynn of New Mexico and many cousins around the country.

Funeral and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

Contributions can be made to Heritage Village Ambulance Association of which her Father in law was a founding member.
