Herman Rosenfield
A man for all seasons, loved and respected by all who knew him.
This gentle giant passed away on Thursday June 18th, 2020 with his loving family at his side; in a facility that is one step from heaven, The Danbury Regional Hospice. He was a resident of Southbury, CT and lived until the ripe old age of 96.
Herman was born March 14, 1924 in Brooklyn, NY to parents Marcus and Celia Rosenfield. He went on to join the United States Army. During WWII Herman was a cryptographer stationed outside of London, England. After the War he enrolled in court stenography and became a supreme court stenographer at the courthouse in White Plains, New York.
Anyone fortunate enough to know Herman knew him as a true gentleman. He was caring, considerate, highly intelligent, and very talented. He sketched, drew wonderful portraits, sculpted, played guitar and had a wonderful singing voice. Not to forget his athletic ability golf, tennis, and bowling. More importantly was his ability to teach others.
Herman leaves behind a loving wife Harriett of 60 years, 3 children Mark, James, and Beth, 6 grandchildren Katie, Eric, Evan, Alex, Sarah and Jenny, as well as niece Debbie and countless friends.
