Florence C. Shamansky, 86, entered into peaceful rest on August 27th, 2020 at New Milford Hospital. Florence was a resident of Southbury, formerly from Seymour. She spent most of her life working for Practical Automation, and spent recent years having various occupations. If you asked Florence her favorite job, she would simply say being a grandmother.
Florence was born in Shelton, on September 21st, 1933, to Mary and Constantine Henriques. She is preceded in death by her six siblings, Sam, Donald, Connie, David, Isabel, and Grace.
Florence, or “Flo” to her friends, was dedicated to helping others. Her life was filled to the brim with love. She enjoyed spending time with her family, which included day trips to New York to visit her son, and taking her grandkids on various unannounced trips.
She leaves behind her two sons, John Shamansky of Woodbury, Edward Shamansky and his wife Holly of Lawyersville, New York . Florence is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Erin, Joshua, Nicholas, Jed, John Micheal Jr., Marissa, and Abigail; As well as her three great-grandchildren, Chloe, Samara, and Damian, and many other friends whose lives she touched.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 4th, at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, 232 Main St N, Southbury, from 10:00-11:00am. The visitation will be followed by a ceremony at the burial site at Brookside Cemetery Oxford.
