Eric Hall Obituary

Eric J. Hall, 62, of Southbury, Connecticut passed away on February 14, 2020 surrounded by family and close friends.

He constantly reminded those around him of the value of living life to the absolute fullest and the importance of seizing every moment. Eric believed that the only way to truly live life was to be a kid at heart, and he never let go of his love for all things fun including everything Disney.

A compassionate soul, Eric’s commitment to the people around him was evident to all who knew him. He dedicated his life to helping others and serving as a devoted member of his community. Eric was a true ‘renaissance man,’ never fearing new challenges or opportunities.

Eric was born in New Hyde Park, New York on December 17, 1957 to Annette and Bernard Hall whom he greatly admired. He considered himself a true Long Islander, attending C.W. Post and remaining on the island for the majority of his life.

Eric’s entrepreneurial spirit helped him form several businesses over the course of his adult life. A man who displayed a strong commitment to his values, Eric’s worked as the president of Miric Group Incorporated, a travel and consulting agency predominantly supporting Native American Tribes in North Dakota and South Dakota. He was deeply committed to promoting social equity for all.

More than anything, Eric believed in the importance of giving time to care for others. His philanthropic work touched people of the metropolitan area and beyond. Over the course of his life he served as the Metro-New York Chairman of Preparedness Health and Safety Services for the American Red Cross and serving on several town boards and commissions, most recently as the vice chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals.

Eric’s commitment to Judaism remained steadfast throughout his life. He was a proud member of Temple Isaih in Great Neck for many years and continued to support that community as he joined B’nai Israel in Southbury, serving as chairman of the memorials and dedications committee for the last six years.

Eric is survived by his loving partner and soulmate Michelle and their children Rebekka and Morgan as well as cousins Karen, Steven, and Robert and their families.

The funeral will be held at B’nai Israel of Southbury, 444 Main Street North on Monday, February 17 at 10:30 am.  The burial will be at Beth El Cemetery, 35 Forest Ave. Paramus, NJ 07652 at 1 pm on Tuesday. Shiva will be observed on Tuesday and Wednesday.
