Elaine Krish Obituary

WOODBURY—Elaine Anne Krish, 77, of Woodbury, was called home by Jesus and his angels on June 22, 2020. Elaine was born in Hartford to the late John and Anne Winoski of Stratford.  She was the beloved wife and childhood sweetheart of Raymond Krish for 53 years, and the love of his life. Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Janice Ann Krish, her son Kevin William Krish, daughter-in-law Elizabeth Krish and grandson Brody Krish. Also left to honor her love are her sister Marilyn Romatzick and brother-in-law Joseph Romatzick, along with many adored nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Elaine graduated from the University of Bridgeport with an AS degree and became a medical secretary for several private physicians and medical groups. Besides the full-time job of raising her family, Elaine helped found Aladdin Productions, a family business dedicated to bringing live children’s theatre to thousands of young children throughout Connecticut, for 24 years. She was always delighted with the wonderment that this brought to the kids.

Shortly after they married, Elaine and her husband worked as volunteers of the diocese of Bridgeport conducting pre-cana couples sessions. As a devout Roman Catholic, Elaine was always ready to volunteer for various church ministries. Of notable significance was her interest in the Woodbury Food Bank, representing Prince of Peace parish, where she and her husband were co-chairs for 15 years. She also coordinated volunteers for the parish garden, feeding those most in need and especially wanted this legacy to continue with her husband’s help. For many years, she strongly supported the Arch Bishops Annual Appeal sponsored by the Archdiocese of Hartford, along with Children of the Light, a Honduran charity for street and orphaned children.

Her family was most important to her. She enjoyed family vacations, shopping with her daughter, visiting her kids and precious grandson in Arizona. Some of her best travel memories, were several Caribbean cruises, an Alaskan cruise and trips to Hawaii. She showed her tremendous love for family, by baking and cooking and creating a home filled with treasures. She was a fan of Pinterest and finding special recipes, adding a creative touch to everything she did. She shined at Christmas, bestowing her family with many gifts, smiles and laughter.

An animal lover by nature, cocker spaniels were her favorite. A supporter of the Cocker Spaniel Rescue of New England, she adopted three cocker spaniels and left behind her beloved dog, Lola. She also cared for many birds (parakeets, a cocktail and a parrot) through the years, and enjoyed watching her backyard birds.

A great part of her life was dedicated to creating handmade greeting cards for all occasions for her family and friends. She actually put Hallmark to shame! She took great delight in her professional craft room and making special cards that touched everyone who received them. This was a perfect hobby since she was so creative and crafty.

Elaine thrived on tending to her multiple flower gardens that she loved to spend her time in. In particular she loved her big peonies, rose bushes, hostas and lilies, which continue to bloom in her yard.

Years ago, pleasant memories were created in her family home in Vermont. As a special getaway, many weekends included fun fall foliage trips, skiing, visiting lakes, craft shows, and times spent with many friends and family.
