Daniel Carten Obituary

Roxbury-

Daniel James Carten left this world on October 3rd, 2023 but his family and friends will always remember his warmth, generosity, and mischievous sense of humor. Dan and his brother, Frank, were raised by their mother, Kathleen Carten, in Wayne, PA. He had a bright and curious mind, which he utilized to create his own business, designing and manufacturing high purity gas valves for the semiconductor industry and hospitals throughout the world. He designed buildings for his business, his vacation homes in Rhode Island and Florida, and his primary home in Roxbury, CT, where he passed surrounded by family.

Dan loved to travel and had friends in just about every corner of the world. He was a licensed pilot and a passionate boater, well-known for his excursions around the islands of Boca Grande, FL in the “Rumabout.” From his first marriage, he is survived by his two children, Deanna Breck Carten and Davin Hayward Carten. He was widowed by his second wife, Sharon Mehler. Thank you to everyone who visited, called, texted, and left messages for him prior to his passing on.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to the non-profit hospice RVNA, who took such great care of Dan. You may send donations to RVNA Health Hospice, 27 Governor St. Ridgefield, CT 06877.  Phone (203)438-5555 or online at RVNAhealth.org.
