Colleen Anne Jennings, from Southbury CT, died peacefully on January 4th two months short of her 94th birthday with her daughter by her side. She spoke to each of her children on the day of her death and conveyed her deep love for each of them as well as their families.
She was born on March 4,1930 to Viola (nee Krill) and Leonard H. McMahon, in Brooklyn NY. Colleen was one of three children with her brothers Buddy and Patrick. Colleen went on to study English and received a prestigious religious award from Mercyhurst College, Erie PA where she graduated Cum Laude with a BA degree. They also enjoyed hosting family in their Naples, FL home. There were family trips loading up the six kids to Candlewood Lake, the Jersey shore, Washington D.C. among others but most of the wonderful family summers were spent relaxing at Rehoboth Beach, DE. Colleen and Frank were happily married for 62 years until Frank’s passing. They were quite a fashionable and social couple. Colleen’s passions were her family, lifelong friends, reading, music and current events. She was proud of all of her six children.
