Christopher Clark Batchelor, 70, of Woodbury, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2020 at the Summit at Plantsville after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Dolores “Bachi” Weglarz Batchelor.
Chris was born on May 23, 1950, in Milford, the son of Mead W. Batchelor and Sheila “Smith” Huidekoper.
Chris was a member of Local 478 as a plant operator, retired from O&G industries after 35 years and a Navy Veteran.
Chris enjoyed sailing and was a member of the Milford Yacht Club. His favorite time was racing Star boats with his father and friend Jack Button. He loved gardening and cutting fresh flowers for Bachi. He cherished the times with all the kids especially at Stafford Motor speedway and being part of the crew.
Besides his loving wife of 44 years, he leaves behind his stepchildren, Denise Fantarella of Orange, Michael Dowling and his wife DanaLynn of Middlebury, Mark Dowling and his wife Micah of Midland NC, and Donna Dowling-Goldberg of Woodbury, and 11 grandchildren. Chris predeceased his mother Sheila Huidekoper of Vero Beach Florida. He also leaves behind two brothers and a sister, Whit, Mark, and Hilary Batchelor, several nieces and nephews, and his cherished dog Wilson.
