Southbury-

Charlotte Harvey, 93, of Manor Road, died peacefully in her sleep in her home on Thursday, May 9. She was born in Yalesville, CT to the late George and Mildred (Tomlinson) Norton on July 30, 1925. Charlotte had worked at Southbury Training School for 28 years, and had worked at the H.H. Stone & Sons Hardware store in Southbury.

Charlotte loved to read, garden, dance, sing, play cards, sew and cook. In her home Christmas would start in November; often baking over five thousand cookies for the holidays. She especially loved spending time with her family. She was always lending a helping hand to anyone in need; friend or family.

Charlotte leaves behind her children, George H. Harvey of Coxsackie, NY., Sandra Hart (Allen) of Owls Head, NY., Beverly Cole of Southbury,  Guy “Mike” Harvey of Woodbury,  Leslie “Peeper” Harvey (Sue) of Southbury, and Carol “Kit” Stone (George Jr) of Southbury. She also leaves 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Lillian Platt and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she is pre deceased by  two sisters, a brother, a grandson, a granddaughter, her former husband and a daughter-in-law.

A private graveside service will be held in the South Britain cemetery in South Britain. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to the charity of your choice.
