Carl graduated from J.F. Kennedy High School in Waterbury, CT. He spent his entire career, working for 40 years, in the field of Civil Engineering as a Highway Construction Inspector. He retired from STV in March of 2020.
Carl was very much a family man who enjoyed spending time with his daughter Erin, who was the shining light of his life. He and his wife, Elayne, loved dining out and having fun with friends often. Carl was an uncle with a very generous heart. Many 4th of July picnics were held around the Carlson's pool. Carl loved making a giant slip-and-slide or setting up the volleyball net for friends and family to enjoy. Carl would also enjoy shooting pool or playing cards with friends and family.
The "Gentle Giant" was known for his wonderful wit and sense of humor. One of the most fun family times were when Carl would sit at his father’s drum set, playing as if he had many lessons, keeping great time to the music; but never having had one lesson in his life. He had a naturally gifted musical talent. Carl’s smile and laugh will always be with us.
