Woodbury- Brian Gerard Barry, 66, passed away unexpectedly on October 23, 2023. He was born on May, 28, 1957, the son of Elizabeth Knox Barry and Edward M. Barry.
Brian worked for AT&T for the last 43 years, he recently retired and enjoyed traveling and camping with his grandchildren. He held position of Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 480 for many years. Brian belonged to High Rock shooting club and Saint Teresa Men’s Club. He collected Toys for Tots, helped out at the food bank, set up the creche for Saint Teresa and maintained the lights on the Town Green Christmas tree for many years every holiday season. He loved donating his time to helping others and fixing anything and everything that needed fixing, there was nothing he couldn’t do.
Brian is survived by his wife, Linda Koval Barry and their three children, Brian E. Barry and partner Rachel O’Connor, Aaron M. Barry and partner Missy Harrigan, Jenel B. aRusso and her husband Anthony; his sister, Peggy B. Rehkamp and her husband George of Bethlehem, Patricia B. Thomas of Texas, Kevin G. Barry of Woodbury, Maureen B. McCurdy and her husband Dave of Bethlehem, Betsy Daniels and her husband Dave of Woodbury and Katie B. Rutkowski of Terryville; six grandchildren, Sierra Barry, Devlin Barry, Makayla Barry, Jameson Barry, Eliza aRusso and Felix aRusso. They will miss Grandpa sneaking them on ice cream runs!
Brian lived for spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, please bring a new, unwrapped toy to be donated to Toys for Tots, donation boxes will be at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home during the visitation on Sunday, October 29, 2023 from 2:00 pm until 5:00pm, and through out the week following. A Mass will be held at Church of the Nativity, Bethlehem on Monday, October 30, 2023 at 10:30 am. The Church of the Nativity will also have Toys for Tots donation boxes available during services.
