Barbara E. (Jones) Moran

Devoted Wife and Mother

Barbara E. Moran, 87 of Woodbury, CT. passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late James F. Moran. Barbara fought a valiant fight against cancer for over seven years, but ultimately succumbed to other medical events.

Barbara was born in Waterbury, CT. on July 21, 1936 to the late Michael and Bernice (Eichman) Jones, and is predeceased by her brother Michael Jones, and sister, Carol Ward. She is survived by her brother Robert Jones of Wolcott, CT. (Mary).

She was educated in Waterbury, CT. and retired from the State of Connecticut, Department of Motor Vehicles. Barbara’s love of the ocean was unrivaled by none.

Barbara was a loving and dedicated mother to eight children, Michael Moran of Essex, (Nancy Brault), Kevin Moran of Middlebury, (Kathryn), Christine Moran of Farmington, Elizabeth Fleming of Woodbury, (Patrick), the late Margaret Moran, Alison Smith of Edgartown, MA, (Thomas), Courtney El-Bezzani of Orange Park, FL, (Al), and the late Sean Moran. She was the proud grandmother of 16, predeceased by Sean (Davis) Moran of Indiana, and the great grandmother of 16 as well. Barbara is survived by several nieces and nephews that she loved dearly, and many special childhood friends, one which she has known since she was seven, Mrs. Denise Welsh of Southbury, CT.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home 2 School St, Woodbury, CT 06798.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Prince of Peace Parish, Saint Teresa of Avila Church, 146 Main St. S. Woodbury, CT on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. Private Burial will follow.
