William (Bill) L. Kirhoffer, 63, of Oxford, CT, died peacefully at home, beside his dog Wes, from cardiac failure, on June 20th, 2025. Bill was born on August 14, 1961, in Port Chester, NY to William B. Kirhoffer and Marilyn Kirhoffer, of Newtown, CT.
Bill graduated from Newtown High School, class of '81 where he excelled in a variety of sports, and began his passion for cars, trucks, and automotive mechanics. He served in the United States Air Force for the next 4yrs as a jet mechanic, where he received a commendation for the invention of a throttle adjustment tool for the F-16 fighter jet. Upon returned home to Newtown and began his career in construction specializing in heavy equipment mechanics and operation. Bill took pride in his work, treasured his many friends, loved his many dogs and most importantly, prioritized and cherished his family. Bill loved the outdoors and spent his free time skiing, snowmobiling, hunting, and mostly enjoying at his back patio celebrating life with laughter and revelry with family and friends.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Liza and her husband, Andrew (Crocco). His grandchildren; who were his pride and joy; Amaya, Raelyn, Dominic and Luca. His brother; John Kirhoffer and his sister; Nancy Kirhoffer (Jen). His nieces; Emily, Erin and Kaelyn. His ex-wife (and beloved friend) Susan Schiavi. His in-laws; Donald and Elinor Schiavi. He was predeceased by his parents William and Marilyn Kirhoffer, and his adored son, Billy.
Bill was a dedicated employee of S&S Asphalt Paving for 14yrs. The family is grateful for S&S and their continued support.
In true Bill fashion, there will be a celebration of life, at his home, on Sunday, July 6 at 4pm.
