William J. Wargo, Jr, of Dublin Hill Road died unexpectedly Thursday December 8, 2022 at his home. Billy was born January 24, 1947 in Waterbury son of the late Dorothy and William Wargo, Sr. Bill was a third-generation lifelong resident of Southbury, graduating from Southbury High School in 1965. He entered the Lincoln School of Welding and soon after married his beloved Barbara (Woodworth). He was drafted to Vietnam and served from 1966 to 1968. Upon his return he pursued his career in welding, then driving heavy equipment eventually starting his own excavation company with his wife, B-4 Excavating.
Bill was the most dependable, family-oriented man.. He enjoyed nature, loved animals, cars, he loved to cook and enjoy a good meal. It was once said that he had a heart as huge as a hotel; with a room available for everyone.
He is survived by his son Brian and his wife Christine Wargo of Maine, his brother Richard and his wife Marge Wargo of Southbury, a niece Courtney Morphis of North Carolina , his cat Bee-Balm and several cousins.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his beloved wife Barbara, with whom he enjoyed yearly vacations to Jamaica.
A memorial gathering will be held Sunday, December 11th from 2-4 pm with a short service starting at 4:15 at the Southbury location of Munson Lovetere Funeral Home, located 235 Main St. N.
