Obituary


WOODBURY- William A. Duff, 73, of Woodbury, died Thursday December 13, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the husband of Suzanne (Barley) Duff.

Mr. Duff was born September 18, 1939 in Williamstown, VT, son of the late Richard and Madeline (Taylor) Duff and has resided in Woodbury for many years. He retired from the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation after 36 years of service. Mr. Duff was also a founding member of the Woodbury Ambulance Association. He was an active EMT for 40 years and remained as an associate member. He was an avid New York Yankees fan as well as a UCONN Huskies basketball fan. He loved to travel and take cruises.

Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Julie Slivinski and her husband Robert of Woodbury and Linda Ackerman and her husband Michael of Wolcott, a brother Gordon Duff of Northfield, MA, a sister Martha Stone of Williamstown, VT and three grandchildren, Danica and PVT Scott Ackerman and Bree Slivinski, and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Bernard and Wendall.

Cemetery: Old North Cemetery

Location: Munson-Lovetere Woodbury

Services: A funeral service will be held on Monday December 17, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 2 School St.

Visitation: Friends may call the funeral home Sunday from 3-7 p.m.
