IN LOVING MEMORY OF

William "Cheech"

D. Violano, Jr.

September 2, 1962 – January 4, 2023

Obituary

William "Cheech" D. Violano, 60, entered his heavenly home on January 4, 2023 after a valiant battle with cancer. William was born in Derby, CT to William D. Violano, Sr. and Helen M. Violano. William is also survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth A. Violano (Mary & Eugene Dobek, Diane & Kenneth Yuravich); his son, Ryan DiCamillo (Liliana Hernandez); daughter of his heart, Katie Blake (Brian, Brayden, Carson and her large extended family); sisters, Kim Wargo (Thomas) and Diane Lucas; brother, Steven Violano (Kim); nieces and nephews: Angela, Elizabeth, David, Melissa, Jennifer, Joanna, and Chase; many loved great nieces and nephews. A very special mention of his best friend of over 55 years, David Rowland.

William was a graduate of the Oxford School System and Emmett O' Brien Technical High School. His career and God-given talent as a master craftsman not only allowed for the success of his time with the Local 12 roofing union and a successful business of Violano Home Improvements but also the ability to provide knowledge and skill for projects for those he loved.

William was grounded in his strong faith, his love for animals, his passion for music, cars, and travel. He had a natural gift for baseball at a young age and a fearlessness for speed and dirt bikes. "Cheech" had a special gift when it came to his relations with young children. His sense of humor and ability to be present in all relationships will leave a void for all who were blessed to have had time with him.

William was proud of his participation in the Make-A-Wish of CT trailblaze challenge by fundraising and hiking close to 30 miles in one day. He is a lifetime member of the Bethlehem Fire Department, and a member of the Bethlehem Ambulance Association.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Smilow Cancer Hospital for allowing us for more time with our "Cheech". A special thanks for the numerous prayers, especially for the prayers and support of Pastor Bob and Laurie Hoyt and the congregation of Living Springs Christian Fellowship.

The family would also like to thank Lauren Ledan, RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist), the angel that watched over Cheech in his final weeks with us.
