IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Warren G.
Ketchum
October 26, 2004 – October 15, 2022
Warren Ketchum, 17, passed away unexpectedly on October 15th, 2022. A charismatic, fun-loving, and beautiful son and brother, Warren was the youngest of two children, raised in a loving home and born in Roxbury, CT.
Warren (Ren) was a graduate of Shepaug High School. He planned to work and begin his education shortly, only 11 days shy of his 18th birthday.
Since a child, Warren was always known as the life of the party, never taking life too seriously. He enjoyed being authentic, unique, creative, and unconventional. With his ability to engage and forge relationships with anyone, Warren was known as easy to talk to, always migrated towards others, making strong connections, and accepting of everyone. There was not a place we would frequent with Ren, where he did not know someone and greet them with a warm smile, laughter, and a special handshake or joke. Having as much fun as possible & making those around him laugh continuously, was one of Ren's many, many gifts. Inwardly, Warren was sensitive and navigating the responsibilities of young adulthood. Warren was blessed with many friends, family members, and connections who loved, encouraged, and supported him, which he unwaveringly knew.
Known for his diverse talents, Warren won writing and photography awards, a statical presentation at Yale, enjoyed soccer, baseball, and track in Middle School. He loved vacationing in Cape Cod, Florida, North Carolina, St. Lucia, Turks and Caicos, and Germany, where he always created something on the beach or trails that made for many smiles. He loved to ski, travel, swim, listen to music, and to meet with friends and family continuously.
Warren is survived by his parents, Randall Ketchum of Southbury, Erika Ketchum of Roxbury, his brother Grant Ketchum, also of Roxbury. He also leaves his behind his Grandmother Ziggie Ketchum of Southbury, CT as well as many wonderful family members from Bridgewater, CT, Kent, CT, Doylestown, PA, Medford and Southern New Jersey, Germany, as well as a vast, supportive group of friends from towns throughout the Northeast. He was predeceased by his grandparents Gisela and James Giatto of Medford, NJ and Dennis Ketchum of Bridgewater, CT, as well as his uncle Officer Stephen Ketchum of Bridgewater, CT.
While Warren is at peace, we will miss Ren's uncontrollable sense of humor, smile, unforgettable fun, and the way he lit up a room. Those who knew him and were fortunate enough to feel the warmth of his huge heart, big hugs, and sweet smile will likely remember him with the happiness he projected. Warren lived life by the parallel; "Don't fear death, fear the un-lived life" by Natalie Babbitt and Warren's life was entirely filled with exciting, rewarding, and incomparably full experiences.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Warren's short life on October 29th, from 2-5pm. Prayer Service, Eulogy, and words of remembrance by attendees will be from 4:00-5:00pm at Munson & Lovetere Funeral Home located at 235 Main St N, Southbury, CT 06488.
