Mr. Walter G. Montville, 93, of Middlebury died peacefully in the Vitas Unit of Saint Mary's Hospital Friday April 19, 2013. He was the husband of the late Lois T. Montville.
Mr. Montville was born February 26, 1920 in Waterbury, the son of the late Christopher and Mary (Gaukas) Montville. He was a veteran of the US Navy having served during World War II in the Pacific. Walter married his high school sweetheart, Lois, on December 25, 1941. A tool & die maker his entire career, he started at Scovill Manufacturing before opening his own company; Rilow Manufacturing, which he later sold and was retired from Cly-Del manufacturing. After his retirement, they moved to Bradenton, Florida where they lived for many years before returning to their home town of Middlebury.
In his earlier years, he played for the Middlebury hockey and baseball teams in the Middlebury area and later he became an avid golfer. He was a member of King Solomon's lodge #7 A.F. & A.M.
He is survived by his three children, Richard Montville and his wife Ellen, Karen Albini and her husband Rito, with whom he made his home, Jeffrey Montville and his companion Patti Hallock, all of Middlebury, 4 grandchildren, Sam Montville, Christian Sylvester and her husband Kevin, Shannon and Jill Montville, 7 great grandchildren, Molly and Donovan Montville, Isabella and Sophia Sylvester, Brendan Feeley, Mary Kate Fitzsimmons and Shannon Montville.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Funeral: Middlebury Congregational Church
Services: A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 27th at 11: 30am at Middlebury Congregational Church. Burial will follow in Middlebury Cemetery.
