Mr. Walter R. Carey Sr., 83, of Harrison Lane, died Wednesday August 22, 2007 at his home with his family by his side. He was the husband of Vita S. (Marchione) Carey.
Mr. Carey was born January 22, 1924 in Westport, son of the late Henry and Helen (Pelikan) Carey. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corp. serving during World War II and he worked at the Wilson H. Lee Printing Company in Newtown as a Pressman. He was a member of the American Legion in Bethlehem, Post #146, and a Boy Scout volunteer. His hobbies included boating and fishing.
Besides his beloved wife, he is survived by two sons, Walter R. Carey Jr. of Bethlehem and Thomas Edward Carey of Agerton, MA, a brother Henry Carey Jr. of Watertown, six grandchildren, Rebecca Carey, Benjamin Carey, Amanda Carey, Leann Carey and Ariel Carey, three great-grandchildren, Ashley Carey, Isabella Carey and Matthew Carey, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Albert Carey, and a sister, Alice Carey.
