Walter John Biscardi Sr., 79, of Southbury CT died quietly at home on January 9 surrounded by his loving wife, Sylvia Biscardi and family members. Mr. Biscardi was formerly a long time resident of Poughkeepsie NY and was born to the late Sarah and Louis Biscardi on April 24, 1933.
Mr. Biscardi graduated from F.D. Roosevelt High School, Hyde Park NY in 1951 and later received an AS in Business from Dutchess Community College. His 35+ year career with IBM began as a tool engineer and culminated in numerous executive positions in Distribution, Marketing and Corporate Purchasing until his retirement in 1986. He also enjoyed world -wide travel while with IBM. Upon retiring, Walter founded Biscardi Enterprises, a consulting firm where he successfully offered motivational lectures and seminars sought out by Fortune 500 corporations, major associations and professional groups. He was known as 'Mr. Positive' through his successful appearances on Post-News week television stations. He also co-authored 'A Lifetime of Learning' a self-assessment book for personal and career growth and development. In addition, Mr. Biscardi was an Associate Professor, teaching in the Management Development Center at Teikyo Post University in Waterbury CT. Always active, he later worked for the VNA Health Care of Waterbury CT 6 years.
Walter had a love of sports and the arts and was actively involved in both throughout his life. He actively played in baseball, basketball & football all through high school. After high school, Walt was recruited as a pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies farm team. As an adult, in Poughkeepsie NY, he coached multiple Table Talk Little League teams as well as several CYO HS Basketball teams for Holy Trinity Church. Additionally, he served many years as President of the Board of Directors of the Mid-Hudson Regional Ballet Company. He was a food enthusiast and enjoyed the culinary arts. Walter was an avid fisherman throughout his life, loved the NY Giants, but had an absolute passion for his beloved NY Yankees.
Mr. Biscardi was a devoted parishioner and active member of St. Paul's Parish in Brookfield CT. He was also an active volunteer for many organizations and non-profit agencies in the local communities throughout the Waterbury and Southbury areas.
In addition to his wife, Sylvia, Walter is survived by three children: Kim and husband, Michael Feola of Morris CT, Lori and husband Joe Cavise of Pound Ridge NY, and Walter Biscardi Jr. and wife, Rebecca Corrigal of Buford GA, as well as their mother, Josephine Natoli of Poughkeepsie, NY. He is also survived by step daughters, Tara and husband Reverend Joseph Shepley of Southbury CT and Dana and Reverend Andrew Buchanan of Virginia Beach VA. In addition, he is survived by nine grandchildren: Jeffrey Feola, Fiona and Phoebe Cavise, Joseph, David and Sarah Shepley, Rachael, Andrew and Luke Buchanan. Mr. Biscardi was predeceased by his brother, Louis Biscardi Jr. and former wife, Barbara Mete Biscardi.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Walter's name to the VNA Hospice Care Services of Waterbury, 50 Brookside Rd, Waterbury CT 06708 or St. Paul's Parish in Brookfield CT.

Services: A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Parish, 174 Whisconier Rd. Brookfield CT on Saturday January 19th at 11: 00am. A private burial will take place at a later date in St Peter's Cemetery in Poughkeepsie NY.
